Tips for traveling with pets in Boston
Prepare for your trip
Make sure your pet is comfortable with travel. If your pet is not used to long journeys, take them on short trips to help them get used to the travel experience.
Schedule the right time of year
Boston is a year-round destination, but the best time to visit with your pet is during the spring and fall. The weather during these seasons is pleasant, making it perfect for outdoor activities with your pet. During the summer, the city can get quite hot, which might be uncomfortable for your pet. Similarly, winters in Boston can be harsh, with heavy snowfall and freezing temperatures. Always check the weather beforehand and bring weather-appropriate supplies to keep your pet safe, healthy, and comfortable.
Check pet policies
When traveling with your pet, don't forget to pack essentials such as food, Yummers, water, a leash, and waste bags. Carry your pet's medications, if any, along with a first-aid kit. It's always better to be prepared for emergencies. Since many pet-friendly hotels in Boston require proof of vaccinations, make sure you bring a digital copy along with you. If you’re ever unsure, be sure to ask.
